British GT Championship/Mondello Park
Another podium for Ni Amorim
Ni Amorim finishes in the podium the first race of the
British GT Championship journey's, this weekend, at Mondello Park. The
race, held on Saturday, was "very difficult" for the RDM's driver, who
shares a GT Cup class Ferrari F360 Modena with british Adam Wilcox:
"That is not the ideal track for the Ferrari, because
is very tight and slow. Infortunately, we have some problems with the
brakes, in the last stages of the race. So, with all of that, the
result was very good."
In the second race, held on Sunday, Ni Amorim finishes
a place behind, on 4th position: "The Ferrari have an adicional weight
of 50 kilos, who made the things worst. But we can manage to finish
third again, without a stop and go penalization."
After
that race, Ni Amorim was second in the GT Cup Class classification.
The next weeks are very important for Ni Amorim, because the team was
able to put a strong "development program" for the Ferrari F360 Modena,
with many tests sessions, the first of all at Castle Combe. |

Ni Amorim in Snetterton
Ni Amorim was testing, last week, in Snetterton, the
late developments on the DRM’Ferrari F360 Modena with he, together
with Adam Wilcox, takes part in the British GT Championship. After the
test, Amorim was very confident with his possibilities for the next
race, 8th and 9th May, in Mondello Park:
“The torque was much better, like the velocity of the
car. I believe that the Porsche, who wins both races at Donington,
wasn’t too far away from our car. It’s possible to beat him, I think!”
This
improvements on the DRM’Ferrari – including a new exhaust system –
were only the first step for a more competitive car in the future. |
